As of 01 Oct 06, the Find-A-Vet service has been temporarily suspended due to the deployment of the webmaster.

Find-A-Vet

The only listings on this page will be Veterans searching for Veterans. Nothing more nothing less.  We owe a page just for this cause.  So many veterans search the web only to find nothing in their search or a site that wants to charge you for this information.  On this site it will be totally free.  To begin with you must contact the webmaster to have your listing displayed on this site.  If there is an overwhelming response to this it will become a searchable database.  It does not matter what type of service you had, (ie: peacetime, era, combat, or what war or conflict you may have served in.)  This is for all Veterans of the U.S. and its allies.

Information needed to post a Find-A-Vet message:

First Name,  Last Name,  Middle Initial,  Nickname
Branch of Service,   Unit, Years of service:

Looking for (name and/or nickname), to include where you served with this individual
Email Address:  Be sure it is your email address and not your screen name.  Any invalid email address will cause your posting to be discarded. Email this information to VVnW International Headquarters

To add your message click here.

You may also try using the Veterans Coalition "Find-A-Vet form" which will search the database of Veterans of the Vietnam War, Inc. and Veterans Coalition National Headquarters. This is a snail mail form. We do request a donation for this search.

I was on Lz Baldy from Oct 67 to May of 68 an artillery Mechanic with the 1st Cavalry under Captain Sheets.  My name is Dave Bates.  I took care of a Marine Battery of 155 howitzers on Baldy and and and battery of 105s on Colt and a Battery of 8 inch self propelled from the 2/94th artillery on Ross and the battery of 105s on LZ Leslie. They shuttled me back and forth every day on a huey.  I would like to find Captain Sheets.  When I left Baldy to go up to serve the 2/94th artillery at Camp JJ Carroll Captain sheets called a formation to honor me and said I would always be a member of the 1st cav and and he was right. I can say I still am proud to have served.

I am interested in the welfare of all veterans and I think homelessness among veterans is a national disgrace that should be addressed by the Congress.  If you agree, contact your US Senator and Congressperson from your district at www.uscongress.gov and remind them of this major hole in the national safety net.  Many of these individuals, old timers as well as recent Iraq vets, suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or other mental conditions and are overlooked on the streets of Bling-Bling, USA.

I am looking for information on my brother Carl Raymond Konopa he is listed on the Vietnam Wall on panel 19E line 108.  I dont know how to go about getting info on his unit or his service records.  His tour of duty started sept. 25,1966 and ended May 13,1967. He was killed in a non hostile helicopter crash. He was in the 101st airborn screaming eagles.  I was 4 and 1/2 when my brother died and would like to get as much information as I can but have no clue where to even begin looking.  I have a jacket that he sent me from Da Nang and some pictures of us and our other brother Richard, but that is about all. Both of our parents are dead also so I can't use them to reference.  I know he seemed to have several medals some delivered after he had died.

Thanks for any help you can give me .

I need this closure to fill a long-time emptiness in my life. John may have been sent to Viet Nam around that time. I need to know if my father is alive or deceased and if I have any other siblings.
